God's Call

All must give as they are able, according to

the blessings given to them by the Lord your

God.  Deuteronomy 16:17

You must each decide in your heart how much to

give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to

pressure. “For God loves a person who gives

cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all

you need. Then you will always have everything

you need and plenty left over to share with others.

2 Corinthians 9:7-8

Everything we have has come from you, and

we give you only what you first gave us!

My Response

Dear Desert Hope Family,

Now is the time to launch our Building Hope for the Future Capital Campaign. We pray that all whom this campaign touches will experience the hope that is found only in Jesus’ redemptive sacrifice on the cross and His victory over the grave.

Selecting the property was a first step. Our architect— with your input —has developed a conceptual design that transforms this site and current structure into a Mission Center that glorifies God.

We encourage you to take the time to study all the elements. God has blessed our congregation with abundant resources and a generous spirit. It is time to ensure that our journey of inspirational worship, spiritual growth and loving service will continue for this and future generations.

The plans for this Mission Center depend on God’s provision of the time, talents and treasures needed to bring these plans to fruition. Knowing everything we have comes from God, we give Him back what He first gave us. Our prayer is that you will support this campaign in that spirit.

This is a bold plan! Yet, we humbly ask you to make a commitment from your heart—a sacrificial gift that recognizes the many blessings God has placed into your life.

Join us in Building Hope for the Future!

Yours in Christ,

Terry Bredehoft              Keith Kuehn

Council President           Campaign Chair

Q & A

1. How does giving to this Campaign differ from regular giving?
Campaign gifts are over and above your regular giving. Regular giving supports the ongoing operations of Desert Hope—including outreach and mission.

2. How could this Campaign affect our regular and other outreach giving?
Congregations commonly see regular and outreach giving increase during a campaign like ours. While our Campaign focuses on facilities, it will also heighten awareness of everything we do to accomplish our mission. With increased awareness frequently comes increased commitment and participation.

3. What opportunities will we have to learn more about the Campaign?
All members will be invited to small group gatherings with Pastor Jim Cords and a member of the Campaign team. These gatherings will provide an opportunity—in an informal setting—to review details of the Campaign and address any questions you might have.

4. Why do we believe the $800,000 Campaign goal is achievable?
The Auxano Vision Pathway Team arrived at this goal based on our history of giving and number of giving families; as well as data from past campaigns conducted in similar size congregations with demographics similar to Desert Hope’s.

5. What if the Campaign raises more than the $800,000 goal?
That would be a blessing! It could allow us to accelerate paying down the short-term note on the purchase of the property.

6. Will the Campaign provide opportunities to honor a loved one?
Yes. Keith Kuehn will be happy to discuss these opportunities with you.

7. What can I expect on Commitment Sunday, February 15?
During a special worship service, we will be asked to bring forward a completed commitment card indicating our initial gift as well as the amount we are committing to give over the three-year Campaign.
